AIA partners with leading Asian academic institutions in its inaugural survey on Asia's workplace health trends
Hong Kong, 15 March 2017 – AIA Group Limited ("AIA" or the "Company"; stock code: 1299), the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group, announced today the launch of the Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality (the "Survey"), a comprehensive survey of the health and wellbeing of employees around Asia Pacific. The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality is conducted by RAND Europe and preeminent academic institutions from around the region.
The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality will survey a broad range of organisations and their workforces from different industries across Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore with the intention of analysing health trends in the workplace. AIA will provide each participating organisation with a comprehensive tailored organisational assessment report with recommendations on promoting and improving workplace health and productivity.
The Survey will identify each country's Healthiest Employer, Healthiest Employees and Healthiest Workplace across a range of organisation size categories. Country level winners will be judged against their peers from other countries to find the overall Survey winners.
Peter Crewe, CEO, Group Corporate Solutions, said: "We believe that promoting employee health and wellbeing is of critical importance to enterprises of all sizes across Asia. Notwithstanding any social obligations surrounding these issues, it is also a fact that investing in the health and wellbeing of employees can save public sector and private companies billions of dollars every year*."
"In the long-term, organisations that take positive steps to identify and address risks to employee health will undoubtedly improve business performance through boosting the engagement and productivity of their workforce, as well as their increasing their attractiveness to top talent as an employer of choice."
"AIA is proud to launch the Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality, which is the first science-backed workplace survey across Asia. Along with RAND Europe and our partners in academia, we will examine data on employee lifestyle, clinical indicators, mental health, stress, and other areas of concern with the objective of assessing the associated impact on health and productivity."
"The Survey's recommendations when implemented will assist in increasing the productivity of our many corporate customers and workplaces across Asia. This will also serve our ultimate goal of helping people live, longer, healthier better lives by bringing about improvement in employee health and wellbeing across companies, industries, countries and the entire region."
The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality is free to enter and is open for registration between 15 March and 15 May. Country winners will be announced at a later date in 2017.
* The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality survey builds on the success of Britain's Healthiest Workplace, launched in 2013, which has surveyed over 100,000 employees and 400 employers. These surveys have found that in the UK an average more than 23 days are lost to absenteeism per employee every year.
